Lehi’s Family Arrives at the Land of Bountiful | 1 Nephi 17:1–6 | Book of Mormon

I will make thy food become sweet,
that ye cook it not. I will also be your light
in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way
before you, if it so be that ye shall
keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall
keep my commandments ye shall be led
towards the promised land; and ye shall know that
it is by me that ye are led. So beautiful and rich. It is a bountiful land.

  1. One might say this only refers to some random oasis, but there may be a hint at Bakkah in the Hagarite territory visited by of the Lihyan tribe; which is now called Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The details in 1 Nephi do not seem to match up fully with any known path to the Mediterranean nor Red Sea nor Persian Gulf, though.

  2. they make no sense if they leave the southern Arabian peninsula, they have to arm the African continent to Central America. he thinks they had come from somewhere in the Mediterranean and crossed the Gilbratar Strait to the Atlantic Ocean. Or have crossed Egypt, Libya, Algeria on foot until arriving in Morocco and thus build the ship.

  3. Did you know God's greatest attribute is extremely high precision? Precision I define as exact timing and placement, like when you play handball at school. David was very precise because he loved God and God gave him the high precision to kill a bear a lion and Goliath, all precise shots to the centre of the forehead. Hebrews 4:12: for the word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing, to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit and the joints and the marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. In other words if we love to be precise then we love God ( the first commandment) and we can tell any atheist the same. If we worship precision then God will bless us abundantly. To worship means to seek a precision increase to solve any problem (whereas the world increases effort, power if the going gets tough). Zechariah 4:6 says not by might nor by power but by my [precision] spirit says the Lord.
